Falmouth Contemporary

A contemporary approach to suburban living is taking shape on Foreside Road in Falmouth. The new interpretation on traditional forms and planning has been developed by Scattergood Design for Michael Banks and Luke Morong of Dogfish Properties.

The tall, traditional gable end faces the main road, with massing that matches the scale of surrounding homes while offering a range of dramatic and intimate spaces within.  Cedar shingles clad the main form, while flush vertical shiplap pine distinguishes the “saddlebag” that contains the kitchen, master bath and master balcony.

The path through the interior maintains privacy while creating a portal into the surrounding conservation land. The open floor plan rejects formal symmetry, responding to the way families live today, connecting cooking and entertaining, relaxation and at-home work environments. A generous entry Gallery leads to a Great Room that features both a snug hearth and dramatic views into the pines.  The spacious kitchen shares those views and flows into a dining area situated near the hearth.  A three-story stair connects the spaces, offering both internal light and seclusion for Master Suite, bedrooms and Activity Room.

The property is scheduled for completion in June 2018, so stay tuned more information how you can make it your own home!
